Biddulph's mayor took fundraising to the extreme this week by completing a charity indoor skydive for charity.
Cllr Sylvia Rushton, who is in her eighties, completed the hair-raising indoor skydive at iFly in Manchester yesterday (Wednesday 20th April).
As you can see in the video, indoor skydiving involves being blown into the air in a vertical wind tunnel by a powerful fan, which gives the illusion of freefall.
Ahead of the indoor skydive, Cllr Rushton told Nub News that she believes age is just a number, and that she wouldn't let her age get in the way of doing things she wants to do. She has now well and truly proved that statement correct!
The money raised will go to local charities Staffordshire Sight Loss Association and Biddulph Food Banks, as well as a selection of local community projects.
The JustGiving page is still live, and if you would like to donate then please click here.
