Police have appealed for information following a report of a "suspicious incident" on the outskirts of Biddulph.

The incident took place on Overton Road between Sunday evening and Monday morning, and involved a vehicle gaining entry to a field, before driving through it towards some farm outbuildings.

Students at Biddulph High School have been asked to wear face masks between lessons upon returning after the summer holidays next month.

The masks have been recommended as a means of minimising "the risk of cross-year group contamination" as students head back to school.
