Biddulph High School has warned parents and students to be vigilant after nails and screws were left on a driveway outside the school in a "mindless act".

The school has asked those who visited recently to check their tyres for damage after learning of the incident.

In a post on its social media pages yesterday (Monday 14th March), the school said that after checking its CCTV cameras, it had confirmed that the items were not left by one of its students.

The school said that the nails and screws were being scattered "at all times of the day and evening" and have now reported the incident to the police.

A spokesperson for the school said: "Please be vigilant around our school driveway and entrance as we are currently the victims of malicious activity, involving nails and screws being scattered along the driveway at all times of the day and evening.

"CCTV shows that it is not one of our students. The matter has been reported to the Police who have taken evidence away. Please check your tyres if you are visiting us.

"We can only apologise for this crime that is taking place on our doorstep and hope this mindless act ends soon."
