Staffordshire Moorlanders have been praised for their generosity to people fleeing war in Ukraine.
District councillor Joe Porter helped coordinate a collection of essential items such as sleeping bags, clothes, medical supplies and sanitary products to be sent to Europe to help refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.
He said: "We've seen an outpouring of generosity and community spirit from residents."
On Friday, volunteers took local donations to Macclesfield where they would be combined with others and transported to the continent.
Cllr Porter said: "We've delivered donations for Ukrainian refugees from our village to a collection centre in Macclesfield, and from there the donations will make their way to Poland for the refugees arriving from Ukraine."
He added: "The Staffordshire Moorlands stands with Ukraine."
The donations were boosted by families at a local primary school and two local churches.
They arranged the collection of donations such as thermal clothing, foil blankets and sleeping bags to keep refugees warm.
They also included things like hairbrushes and shampoo – as well as things for children such as toys and crayons, clothes, and nappies.
Other essentials included first aid kits, bandages, sanitary towels and toohbrushes.
Others chose to support with a financial donation.
Cllr Porter added: "People have gone above and beyond to collect items to donate to Ukrainian refugees.
"Our community has really pulled together and I'd like to say thank you to everyone who's worked with us on this project."
