White powder, scales and cash were found by police today as they searched a number of properties around Biddulph.

The searches took place today (Wednesday) as part of Staffordshire Police's Operation Disrupt, which saw the police executing three different warrants in the town.

One of the force's police dogs, named Cooper, assisted in the searches.

Cooper is Staffordshire Police's first Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and works as a specialist search dog with his handler, PC Tim Moss.

Cooper also has his own Twitter account with over 12,000 followers, and posted today: "Today assisting the Moorlands Neighbourhood Policing Team with Operation Disrupt searching properties around Biddulph.

"PD Cooper showed interest in an area of cupboards, and on opening a draw there was a number of bags, scales, white powder and cash. Taking positive action on drug activity."

Chief Inspector Mark Thorley, of the Moorlands Neighbourhood Policing Team, added: "Great work, one of three warrants executed in Biddulph today."
