Children have worried residents after they were spotted climbing onto the roof of a Biddulph church.

Three boys were seen walking and clambering around on the scaffolding and roof tiles of Biddulph Methodist Church at Station Road yesterday (Sunday).

Residents have described the dangerous incident as "an accident waiting to happen" after the images were shared on social media.

Residents say that police have now been informed of the incident, after youths were reportedly also seen climbing on the roof of the town's leisure centre.

Reacting to the images, one resident said: "I remember those days, the days of no fear."

Another added: "Make sure they know you're taking pictures of them, it could deter them."

While a third said: "Some boys keep going on the leisure centre roof. It's an accident waiting to happen."
