Air ambulance called to Biddulph as man found in critical condition

An air ambulance was called to Biddulph after a man was found in a critical condition in the town earlier today.
The emergency took place on Gunn Street just before midday, with the air ambulance landing on the playing fields nearby at Kingsfield First School.
Two ambulances also attended. The man received specialist trauma care before being taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Gunn Street at 11.51am.
"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was found to be in a critical condition.
"He received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by land ambulance."
