A Biddulph boy raised hundreds of pounds for a local charity after selflessly giving away his signed football shirt in a raffle.
Biddulph Nub News reported recently how Flynn Smallwood, who is a pupil at Oxhey First School, was raffling off his Port Vale shirt, which is signed by Vale forward Tom Pope.
The raffle has now been completed, and Flynn managed to raise an amazing £275 for More Than A Face, a local charity set up by Biddulph's Charlie Beswick.
Charlie's son, Harry, was born with a rare cranio-facial condition called Goldenhar syndrome, and the charity works with schools and community groups to educate and raise awareness of facial disfigurement.
Flynn plays in goal for the Biddulph Predators FC Under 7s team, and More Than a Face features on all home kits for the teams across all age groups.
The lucky winner of the shirt was Matthew Parker, and Flynn's mum Louise Smallwood has thanked all those who bought a ticket.
She said: "Thank you to everyone who entered!"
Charlie added: "This is amazing news and a wonderful example of the power of community spirit and the good heart of a fabulous boy."
Well done to Flynn for his amazing fundraising efforts!
