Biddulph Classic Car show has been postponed, after it was due to take place this weekend.
The show was due to take place from 2pm - 5pm on Saturday, 12th September, and promised an array of classic and modern cars dating back as far as 1912, and including commercials vehicles agricultural vehicles, motorbikes and scooters.
Some of the main attractions, which were at last year's show, could have included cars from a Model T Ford to a brand new Aston Martin, with prizes being awarded for the best vehicle in each class.
The show took place for the first time last year, and proved popular with the local community, receiving a positive reception from those who visited.
However, this year's show has now been postponed due to Covid-19, with the decision being taken that "it's more important that everyone stays well and safe".
A spokesperson for Biddulph Town Council said today (Monday): "We had been hopeful that the Classic Vehicle event could take place this year. We had such a good time last year!
"On the advice of our partners and in support of our neighbours, we have decided to postpone the Classic Vehicle event, which had been planned for this coming weekend (12 September).
"We're really disappointed, but determined to bring this to the High Street again soon. It's more important that everyone stays well and safe."
The postponement has been called "a shame" by local residents, with one saying: "That's a shame. I was looking forward watching that."
Another added: "That's a shame, it was ace last year."
A new date for the show has not yet been announced.
