Tributes have been paid to a "wonderful and kind" Biddulph teenager following his passing last week.

Harry Mullington, who was a Year 13 student at Biddulph High School, sadly passed away on Monday, 31st August.

It is understood that students and parents were informed of Harry's passing in a letter from the school's head teacher, Simon Ascroft.

The school has said that Harry's cause of death is not yet known, as limited information is available at this time.

A keen Stoke City fan, Harry was a season ticket holder and regularly enjoyed attending Potters games as part of the Knypersley and Biddulph Stoke City Supporters Club.

The club have since extended their condolences, with a spokesperson saying: "Everyone at the supporters club is saddened to hear about the tragic death of Harry Mullington who passed away on Monday. He was a season ticket holder and member of the club.

"He attended all home games and was a regular at away games. He will be sadly missed and our sincere condolences and thoughts go to Steve, Lisa and Jack. RIP Harry. We'll be with you."

Harry's former school, James Bateman Middle School, have also paid their tributes.

A spokesperson said: "We're devastated to hear the passing of our former pupil, Harry Mullington.

"Harry was a wonderful, kind and enthusiastic pupil. We know he'll be terribly missed and our thoughts are with his family."

A JustGiving fundraiser page has now been set up in aid of Harry's family, and has already surpassed its initial target of raising £1,000 - bringing in a total of £1,013 at the time of writing.

It is hoped that the money could be used to display a plaque in memory of Harry at the stadium of his beloved Stoke City football club.

The fundraiser is still live, and if you would like to donate, click here.

Local residents have paid their respects to Harry on JustGiving and Twitter, with one person saying: "Terrible news. A lovely young man sadly taken from us far too early. Sincere condolences to the family."

Another added: "In my thoughts every second of every day! I am heartbroken for you all. Fly high Harry you beautiful boy."
