A young market trader from Biddulph who found her new passion during the Covid pandemic will be representing the town in this year's Young Traders Market competition.
25-year-old Abigail Charlotte took up sewing for her mental health after leaving her teaching job at the start of the pandemic - but only a couple of years on she has managed to turn her hobby into a successful business!
She now runs the handmade accessories business Abi Through The Ears and can be regularly found at the markets in Biddulph. She also has her own shop at Middleport Pottery.
But she is now hoping to take her business to new heights, being in with a chance to be crowned the best young market trader in the UK as she prepares for the next round of a competition.
After winning the local round of the competition, she's made it to the regional round of the Young Traders Market competition this Saturday (August 13th) in Wolverhampton and is hoping to progress to the national finals in Stratford-upon-Avon on August 26th and 27th.
Abi said: "I've got exciting news - I'm going to be representing our area at the regional round of the Young Traders market in Wolverhampton after winning the local round in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
"I just want to say the biggest thank you to the people of Biddulph and the Biddulph Town Council for supporting me. I started markets in May 2021 here in Biddulph and now I'm so proud to be representing us in Wolverhampton.
"I also have a little shop at Middleport Pottery if anyone fancies a day out. You can also shop online with me at abithroughtheears.com"
Best of luck to Abi for this weekend!
