Biddulph resident treated to surprise visit by choir on 90th birthday

A Biddulph resident received a gift they weren't expecting for their 90th birthday at the weekend - a surprise visit by Biddulph Male Voice Choir!

Several members of Biddulph Male Voice Choir sprung a surprise visit on Doreen James on Saturday (4th June) to mark the occasion of her 90th birthday.

The choir was contacted by Lynn James, Doreen's daughter-in-law, to ask if they would be willing to visit her on the day to sing Happy Birthday to Doreen, whose late husband had been a member of the choir.

And of course, the choir were more than happy to sing for her!

A spokesperson for Biddulph Male Voice Choir explained: "Being a member of the choir is like being part of a family, and this just goes to show the close bond that exists within the male voice choir community."

A delighted Lynn said: "My Dad would have been delighted that the choir came to sing for Doreen, but certainly no more delighted than Doreen was to have such a special touch added to her big day."
