Biddulph residents have been encouraged to come along and help to create a set of beautiful new community orchards for the town in an upcoming planting session.
Biddulph Nub News reported previously how locations were revealed for five community orchards to be planted in Biddulph after plans were approved by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
The district council announced that it would be planting 30 orchards around the Moorlands, with five of these coming to Biddulph.
Leek and Cheadle are also getting five orchards each, with the remaining 15 spread across the parishes.
And now Biddulph residents will have the chance to help bring these orchards to fruition at an upcoming planting day next Sunday (20th February).
Biddulph Town Council has asked people to get in touch with them to receive more information about how they can come along and help with the planting effort.
A spokesperson for the town council said: "Biddulph Town Council is working with SMDC to complete a series of orchard planting days. We have three sites left to complete before the season ends.
"If you would like to join us to plant trees around Biddulph, please do get in touch. You will need a suitable spade and you must be fit enough to carry out some digging activity."
The five orchard locations in Biddulph are:
- Biddulph Grange Country Park
- Dorset Drive
- Mill Hayes Playing Fields
- Near the Leisure Centre playground
- Newpool Meadows
Also, an orchard has already been planted near the Village Hall at Biddulph Moor.
