Biddulph residents have been delighted to receive anonymous gifts in a seemingly new local trend which sees people treating others with 'Random Acts of Kindness'.

Residents have taken to social media after benefitting from one of these random acts, with some receiving Christmas presents sent to them anonymously.

The gifts come with a kind message from whoever sent them, and always reference the fact that it was sent as a random act of kindness, or 'RAK' as they have often been abbreviated.

One resident who benefitted from such an act posted a picture of a gift they found on their doorstep in a post which has since received hundreds of 'likes' and comments.

They said: "I've just got home from work and found this on my doorstep. I've no idea who has put it there but thank you so much!

"It has made my day and I'm not ashamed to say I shed a little tear."

The note on the present read: "You have been RAK'd - a.k.a Random Act of Kindness because you are amazing, kind, a little bit crazy and a whole lot of fun!"

Another resident also recently received a random act of kindness.

They said: "I haven't the first clue who sent this but whoever has thank you from the bottom of my heart, it is such a lovely gesture, you've really made me smile."

The note read: "You have been sent a RAK - Random Act of Kindness because you are awesome, funny, kind, loving and a brilliant mum."
