The winners have now been announced for this year's Biddulph scarecrow competition!

Biddulph Nub News reported recently how residents have been decorating the town with their best spooky scarecrows.

The theme for this year's competition is 'Spooktacular' and people were encouraged to design scarecrows with a spooky theme.

The scarecrows could be displayed as early as 22nd October as part of people's Halloween decorations for the competition organised by Biddulph Youth and Community Zone that ran until 29th October.

The winners have now been announced in each category, and are as follows:

- From Houses: Strictly Spooky by Hazel Bennett-Squires

- From Schools & Nurseries: Monsters Inc by Tiny Toez

- From Businesses: The Mummy Librarian by Biddulph Library

A spokesperson for Biddulph Youth and Community Zone said: "Congratulations to our Spooktacular winners!

"Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter our Spooktacular Scarecrow competition this year!

"We hope to see so many entries next year too. We will be delivering prizes and certificates early next week."
