In this column on Biddulph Nub News, Slimming World's Cathy Cooper has praised a Biddulph slimmer for the incredible weight loss he achieved last year. Congratulations!

The Biddulph Saturday Slimming World group would like to make a massive shout out for the fabulous, life-changing achievement of our truly inspirational member Craig Doorbar.

Craig has reached his target weight having lost an amazing eight and a half stone - much of it in 2020 during the lockdown period between March and August when we had to meet virtually.

Craig has absolutely proved that following the Slimming World plan works and he has done this despite his own health issues including avoiding surgery because of his weight loss.

Craig has commented: "Due to my weight loss I have been taken off the list for operations on my Achilles tendons - I now feel amazing! So much more energy and positivity! And I am receiving so many compliments - it isn't true!"

Prior to his weight loss Craig said that he was "too self conscious to have photographs taken."

As a result of his weight loss Craig has been able to have the gall bladder surgery which he needed without complications and looks amazing!

During 2020 Craig had the heart breaking experience of supporting his father during the terminal stages of cancer.

Despite this he showed immense fortitude in managing an area of his life which he could control - his weight loss.

If anyone would like to join our Slimming World group on a Saturday morning or Wednesday evening please message Cathy on 07938 948425.

We have unconditional positive regard and empathy for all our members and we are a community offering the utmost support to each other to achieve weight loss no matter how much weight we would like to lose.

Craig continues to be an inspirational target member of our Saturday group.

Craig has the utmost respect of all the members of the Biddulph Saturday Slimming World group. We are immensely proud of you.

We know that your Dad was proud of you too and we were so sorry to hear that he lost his battle with cancer on Christmas Eve. This editorial is dedicated in memory of your Dad.
