Biddulph Town Council could look into refurbishing and replacing a set of mining lamps that were removed from the roundabout on St John's Road after a new set of recommendations were made.
The recommendations were made by the council's mining memorial working group alongside its considerations for the future location of the mining wheel outside the town hall and presented to councillors at a meeting today.
Discussing the mining lamps, the recommendation stated: "The Town Council should develop a specification for the refurbishment of the lanterns that have been removed from St John's Road and seek costings from three companies.
"The aspiration is to return these to the roundabout. The Town Council will confirm to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council that we are working up a proposal."
Nub News reported previously how the district council had the lamps removed from the roundabout after they fell into a state of disrepair.
However, a row broke out after no guarantee could be given that the lamps could be restored and returned to their original location at the roundabout.
Councillors have since said that if the lamps cannot be restored and returned to the roundabout then they should be replaced with another suitable memorial.
