Biddulph Youth and Community Zone has been overwhelmed with positive messages from those who use its services after local residents were asked to take its "Post Lockdown Survey".

Biddulph Nub News reported previously how the Zone was looking for people's opinions on the quality of their services during the coronavirus period, and any potential ways that they could improve going forward.

Now, the Zone has shared some of the kind messages that they received from those who filled out the survey.

A spokesperson for the Zone said: "We cannot thank our army of volunteers enough, the community of Biddulph have really pulled together and helped each other during this time. We have been proud to be the community hub and very happy that we have been able to help.

"From the survey we have taken on board the things that we can improve on and ask you to watch this space for future projects and events from your suggestions."

The Zone was also recently certified as "Covid Secure", and aims to begin phase one of its groups returning from August 6th.

Below are some of the comments from those who completed the survey:

  • "I really appreciated the Zone's support when I needed it, I'm working as a nurse during this time so it's lovely to be appreciated and supported, it's a great service in our community."
  • "I admire the staff and the volunteers at the Zone, they do an amazing job for the community."
  • "There have always been people in Biddulph in need of food parcels, unfortunately the virus has put a strain on the Zone with so many people in shielding, and as the shielding starts to lift I hope people like myself realise what a wonderful charitable thing the Zone does, and if they no longer need the Zone, will donate generously for our fellow townsfolk who will still be dependent on it."
  • "The staff should be recognised and deserve a gift as they have gone the extra mile to help the local community, more money should be pumped in to help them from the council, a lottery fund or even a sponsor - great work guys."
  • "You make Biddulph a wonderful and caring place to be."
  • "They are great for the community."
  • "A big congratulations and a pat on the back for every person who gives up their spare time to give a little back to the community, it's people like those that deserve the acknowledgement for what they're doing."
  • "Your volunteers are brill!"
  • "You have all done an amazing job through lockdown. From food parcels to award packs and walking the streets to entertain our youngsters, you are all amazing - thank you."
  • "It's a joy to visit."
  • "Since starting using the Zone I have always been made to feel welcome and James makes everyone feel at ease when attending the fitness sessions."
  • "Thank you for all you have done and for staying in touch with the elderly as they really appreciate it."
  • "The Zone is a valuable resource for Biddulph and they have been a lifesaver during lockdown."
  • "Antony and Ange and their team of volunteers have been fantastic, well done."
  • "The staff and volunteers are amazing and will go out of their way to help."
  • "The Zone helps not just youngsters, but older lonely people too."
