A Brown Lees pub has been closed for a deep clean after a child who visited the premises tested positive for Coronavirus.

The Nelson Inn on Brown Lees Road informed customers of the closure earlier today (Tuesday).

The pub will be closed today for 24 hours while the deep clean takes place.

A spokesperson for the pub told customers that the child who tested positive visited the pub on Tuesday, 8th September.

They also said that the child only entered the outside area and the pool room of the pub.

The spokesperson said: "Due to a child being diagnosed with the Coronavirus we will be closed as of today for 24 hours for a deep clean.

"The child was in on the 8th of September, and was outside and in the pool room area only.

"Thank you all for your continuing support in these very difficult times."
