Coronavirus weekly update: 13 new Moorlands cases but no deaths recorded

By Jack Lenton 15th Sep 2020

It has now been five weeks in a row without any Coronavirus deaths being recorded in the Moorlands, and no Coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the whole of North Staffordshire in the last two weeks.

However, total recorded Coronavirus case numbers in the local area continue to climb.

As of yesterday, (Monday) the Moorlands had 430 total recorded cases of the virus, an increase of 13 when compared to the 417 cases recorded in Biddulph Nub News's update last week.

In Staffordshire as a whole (excluding Stoke-on-Trent), there were a total of 4,467 cases as of yesterday.

That represents an increase of 230 compared to the 4,237 cases in last week's update.

Coronavirus deaths statistics are released by the Office for National Statistics in updated localised data each week.

The latest figures were released earlier today (Tuesday) for the week ending Friday, August 28th.

The figures mean that the number of people who have died from Coronavirus in the Moorlands remains at 79.

Of the 79 deaths, 55 have taken place in hospitals, 16 have occurred in care homes, three have occurred at home, with three at other communal establishments, one in a hospice, and one elsewhere.
