The Moorlands has returned to a week with no new Coronavirus deaths being recorded in the district, after one death was recorded last week.

Last week's death came after the district enjoyed two weeks with no deaths caused by the virus being recorded.

This week's latest figures therefore, represent a welcome return to zero weekly Coronavirus fatalities for the Moorlands.

The data is released weekly by the Office for National Statistics, with the latest figures being released earlier today (Tuesday), for the week ending Friday, August 2nd.

The figures mean that the number of people who have died from Coronavirus in the Moorlands remains at 79.

Of the 79 deaths, 55 have taken place in hospitals, 16 have occurred in care homes, three have occurred at home, with three at other communal establishments, one in a hospice, and one elsewhere.

However, as of yesterday (Monday) there were 387 total cases of Coronavirus in the Moorlands, and increase of 5 on last week's figures.

There were 3,963 cases in Staffordshire as a whole, excluding Stoke-on-Trent.
