Elderly woman dies after being found in water at Knypersley Reservoir

An elderly woman has sadly died after emergency services were called to reports of a person in the water at Knypersley Reservoir today (Wednesday 8th June).

Paramedics were called to the reservoir this morning and found an elderly woman in critical condition.

An ambulance, a paramedic and an air ambulance were sent to the reservoir and the car park was cordoned off.

She received treatment at the scene, but it become clear that nothing could be done and she unfortunately passed away.

The woman has now been confirmed deceased and the coroner has been informed.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a person in the water on Greenway Bank. We found an elderly woman in a critical condition.

"She received treatment at the scene.

"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased."

Nub News has contacted Staffordshire Police for comment.
