Fuel crisis: Biddulph petrol stations out of fuel as problems continue into fourth day

Petrol stations in Biddulph have been intermittently running out of fuel over the weekend and into this week as the fuel crisis continued into its fourth day.
The national problem has also affected Biddulph, with long queues for petrol stations over the weekend, and petrol station closures today.
Sainsbury's petrol station in Biddulph and Essar in Knypersley have both been closed today (Monday 27th September) due to a lack of fuel.
However, the Government has repeatedly urged people not to stockpile fuel, and said there was no fuel shortage, and that the issue is in fact a shortage of HGV drivers to deliver the fuel to petrol stations.
Today, cones have been placed in front of the pumps at the Essar Garage in Knypersley, while a sign saying "Sorry No Fuel" has been put up in front of the petrol station at Sainsbury's.
Sainsbury's said yesterday that it was experiencing "very high demand" for fuel, and it has been reported today that the Prime Minister is considering bringing in the army to help with the crisis.
Residents have reported that the Shell garage in Congleton currently has fuel, although there are long queues.
Those in need of fuel could also try garages in Kidsgrove or Leek, with residents reporting that stations in these towns are also stocked with fuel.
