By Jack Lenton 25th Aug 2022

Biddulph High School has praised its GCSE students for showing grit and determination in their studies - and all their hard work has paid off as they finally found out their results today.

The school said it was incredibly proud of its students for rising to the challenge to achieve their grades following a tough couple of years that included disruption due to the Covid pandemic.

The students are now getting ready to move on to Sixth Form and college to begin the next stage of their education.

A spokesperson for Biddulph High School said: "This year has been a fantastic year for our GCSE and L2 BTEC students and it has been lovely to see so many happy and smiling faces today.

"A significant number of students have achieved higher grades across the board, putting them in the top 3% of students in the country!

"Notable successes were Noah Amison, Molly Twigg, Teddy Bainbridge, Emily Bartle and Rhys Andrews who achieved higher grade passes, and Holly Wilshaw who celebrated achieving nine grade 9 results!

"However, today is about celebrating the achievements of all our students and we have had great success stories in all subjects and at all levels, with Dance, Computer Science, Business, Music, and Science achieving exceptional results.

"Our students are progressing onto courses at Biddulph Sixth Form, or at local colleges, and a number will begin apprenticeship placements or work.

"We pride ourselves on the high-quality, one-to-one careers advice and support our students receive, meaning that no student is left behind.

"This has been a difficult couple of years for all our students, trying to succeed against the backdrop of a global pandemic.

"They have risen to the challenge and shown that, through hard work, grit, and determination, you can achieve great things.

"Our high-quality staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that all our students have received the support they need to achieve their highest possible results.

"We are so incredibly proud of all our students and can't wait to see many of them back here in our sixth form."
