One of the many features for visitors to see at Biddulph Grange Gardens is the China bridge.

It can usually be found in the China garden area of the gardens, alongside a pagoda, a bridge, a 'Great Wall' and a tower.

However, the bridge is currently nowhere to be seen at the gardens as it has been taken down for restoration in a specialist workshop.

A spokesperson for Biddulph Grange Gardens explained more about the work that is taking place.

They said: "Our China bridge is currently being restored at our National Trust workshop at Clumber Park by our specialist craft team. They have very kindly sent us some pictures and an update of the work that is happening on the bridge at the moment.

"All the framework has been manufactured in square sections and we are now at the stage of fitting the mortice and tenon joints. Once these joints are fitted we will add all of the moulding such as the handrail shape to the square sections of wood. To do this we will use custom cutters we had manufactured to match the original bridge.

"Thank you to everyone who donated to this project and purchased pin badges which made this important restoration work possible."
