Local residents have been encouraged to donate vital items to a Polish town that Biddulph has partnered with in order to help Ukrainian refugees.
Nub News reported previously how how Biddulph has paired with the Polish town of Bierun to offer aid to Ukrainian refugees who are staying there after escaping the war in their country.
The town of Bierun, which is around the same size as Biddulph, is currently housing over 500 refugees from Ukraine.
A trip to Bierun is due to take place next week to deliver the items, and Biddulph Town Council has asked residents to help make sure as much aid as possible can be sent over.
A spokesperson said: "We are proud to support the town of Bierun in Poland where their Town Council is working with a large number of Ukrainian refugees.
"A trip to this region is planned for next week and we would like to send as many items as possible.
"Please bring these by 4pm on Wednesday 18 May. If the reception area is not open, call 01782 498480 for access.
"Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity."
They also revealed the most vital items that are currently needed, which are:
hygiene articles (sanitary towels, tampons)
cleaning products (liquid soaps, toothpastes, shampoos)
wet wipes
towels (paper and cotton)
warm blankets, sheets, pillows, bedding
women's and children's underwear (new- pants, socks, T-shirts)
first aid kits- bandages, dressings, strong self-adhesive plasters, wound disinfectants
torches, small toys and crayons.
Moorlands MP Karen Bradley has also previously welcomed the partnership.
She commented: "I know that the people of Biddulph will do all they can to help so if you do have anything to donate that is on the list, please deliver to the Town Council who will organise transport once we have a good collection."
