Plans well underway for exciting Platinum Jubilee events in Biddulph

By Jack Lenton 17th May 2022

As you probably already know by now, the Platinum Jubilee weekend is coming up in just over two weeks - a special four day Bank Holiday weekend will be held to commemorate the Queen's 70 year reign.

Thursday and Friday will both be Bank Holidays, giving a four day weekend from 2nd - 5th June.

To mark the occasion, a whole range of exciting events are being planned in Biddulph.

So ahead of the Jubilee, here is a roundup of the events that have been confirmed so far, and how you can get involved!

Thursday 2nd June

The weekend will kick off on Thursday morning with a Jubilee proclamation cry from Biddulph's town crier, John Robinson. This will take place on the steps of the town hall at Biddulph High Street.

Then on Thursday evening, there will be Jubilee beacon lighting, together with a family disco and barbecue at Knypersley Cricket Club at 7pm.

Friday 3rd June

On Friday, Biddulph Youth and Community Zone are commemorating the Jubilee with a street party at their all new community garden.

The party will go on from 12pm - 3pm and will include a bouncy castle, a kids disco and arts and crafts. Just bring your picnic and come along and join the party!

Saturday 4th June

On Saturday from 12.30pm - 4.30pm there will be a free community event and lunch at St John's Church in Knypersley.

It will include a bouncy castle, face painting and a barbecue. It's all free and anyone is welcome to join!

Sunday 5th June

And finally on Sunday, there will be a civic service and afternoon tea at Christ Church, Biddulph Moor, from 2pm - 4pm. Once again, this is free and open to all!

So that's the schedule of events that has currently been confirmed for Biddulph. Have we missed out your event? Please feel free to contact us at jack.lenton@nub.news and we would be more than happy to add it to this article!
