Kidsgrove car blaze was started deliberately, Staffordshire fire crews say

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service worked to extinguish a car fire they believe was started deliberately in Kidsgrove yesterday (Monday 24 October).

The incident was left with the police after the fire was brought under control.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue provided more information about the incident.

They said: "Firefighters were called to Bank Street, Kidsgrove, just before 7.45pm on Monday.

"A crew from Sandyford attended as did officers from Staffordshire Police.

"On arrival, the crew found a black Nissan Qashqai on fire.

"The fire was extinguished using one breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

"Following an investigation, the fire was deemed to have been started deliberately.

"No one was reported injured.

"The fire crew left the scene shortly after 10pm.

"The incident has been left with Staffordshire Police.

"Inquiries are continuing."
