June is Pride month and this year, for the first time, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has shown its support by flying the Pride flag outside Moorlands House.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the first Pride march in the UK, and the district council says this is a fitting time to show its support for the local LGBTQ+ community, work colleagues and family and friends.

the council's chairman, Councillor Tony Holmes, said: "The Council has always been inclusive and recognised the role all members of our communities have to play in the life of the Moorlands.

"This year, for the first time, we've shown our support for Pride month by raising the Pride flag outside Moorlands House.

"I hope that in doing so we can reinforce the message that the Moorlands is truly a place where everyone can feel at home."
