The Staffordshire Moorlands MP Karen Bradley said the culture of Parliament has to change ahead of another MP's resignation after he was caught watching pornography in Parliament.
Conservative MP Karen Bradley was interviewed by Krishnan Guru-Murthy for Channel 4 News and discussed Neil Parish, the Conservative MP for Tiverton and Honiton who has today resigned after admitting he watched porn twice in the House of Commons.
He was suspended by the Conservative Party on Friday but has today announced his resignation to the BBC, calling it a "moment of madness".
Following his suspension Mrs Bradley commented in the interview last night: "I'm very pleased action has been taken. We do have to remember this is a person with family, but we couldn't continue as other MPs and people who work in the House of Commons are worried."
When asked if watching porn in the Commons was against any rules, she said: "Having a mobile device in the House of Commons is not a bad thing, but you certainly shouldn't be using it to look at any kind of adult material. It is the most visible workplace in the country. The very idea that it would be in any way acceptable to look at something like that is beyond comprehension."
She was then asked why an investigation was needed, to which she said: "Let's find out what actually happened. I'm struggling to find a reason why it would be acceptable, but everyone deserves due process."
She also commented on the need for a change of culture in Parliament, adding: "The culture of Parliament, where anyone might think that kind of thing is acceptable, has to change."
