Moorlands MP Karen Bradley has welcomed news that Staffordshire is set to receive an additional £1.8 million from the government's Active Travel Fund.

The fund is designed to allow local authorities to improve cycling and walking infrastructure, through initiatives such as School Streets, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and segregated cycle lanes.

Government is releasing £175 million in funds to council's across the UK as part of its response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Karen Bradley said: "I know that many local residents enjoy cycling and walking in our beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands and I am delighted that Staffordshire will benefit from this additional funding to make our local areas more bike and pedestrian-friendly, while maintaining the access and space other road users still need."
