Biddulph residents have been asked to vote for the town in a bid for £20,000 of funding to improve a green space - and there are only two days left until the deadline.

Nub News reported previously how Severn Trent Water have allocated a total of £250,000 to help local communities improve nature and carbon neutral initiatives in their towns - and Biddulph is in the running for a share.

There are eight awards of £20,000 available for those who receive the most votes in the Gold category - which Biddulph is included in.

Biddulph Town Council has been shortlisted for a grant to improve the area of green space between Halls Road and Briarswood.

A spokesperson for the town council said this week: "It's not long until the deadline. Please take a moment to vote, if you haven't already."

The council previously explained: "Biddulph Town Council is working with the community to develop and improve an unloved area of our town. We want to clear overgrown areas, plant trees and wetland plants, repair footpaths and handrails, and involve our local children in raising awareness."

Explaining the voting process and how people could vote, they added: "Severn Trent will ask for the voter's first name, last name, address, Severn Trent account number (if you have one, but this is not compulsory) and who they would like to vote for in each Award category - Bronze, Silver and Gold. We are in the Gold category, so please look for us there.

Voting closes at midnight on Sunday, 24th April. If you would like to vote then please CLICK HERE.
