Opening date confirmed for Biddulph's new Dougie Mac charity shop

A Dougie Mac charity shop is returning to Biddulph, and residents will be able to shop there very soon after its opening date was confirmed yesterday.

The new shop will be based at the former Natwest Bank building at 63 High Street, and the opening date has been confirmed as Thursday next week - 16th September.

A spokesperson for Douglas Macmillan Hospice said: "If you've noticed lots of activity in and around the former Natwest Bank at 63 High Street, Biddulph, we're delighted to announce that our brand new Dougie Mac charity shop will be opening next Thursday (16th September).

"The shop has had a full refit and our staff and volunteers have been working really hard to get everything ready for our grand opening.

"We can't wait to welcome you to Dougie Mac Biddulph."

Biddulph residents have been delighted at the news that the local charity will be returning with a shop in the town, with one saying: "It will be fabulous to have Dougie Mac back in Biddulph!"

Another said: "Great news, I've got loads to take to them."

While a third added: "I can't wait to have a root around with my daughter!"

Douglas Macmillan Hospice, also known as Dougie Mac, is a local charity which provides free services to around 3,500 patients with life limiting illnesses in North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
