Police have issued an updated appeal after a caravan was stolen from Overton Road on the outskirts of Biddulph.
It follows an original police appeal on Monday, which described a "suspicious incident" taking place on the road.
The incident took place between Sunday evening and Monday morning, and involved a vehicle gaining entry to a field, before driving through it towards some farm outbuildings.
However, police have now also reported that a caravan in the area was stolen at this time, and may have been towed away towards the Leek area.
PCSO Peter Johnson, of Staffordshire Police's Biddulph team, said: "Following Biddulph Police message on Monday regarding an incident on Overton Road, Biddulph we are now appealing for information for a theft of caravan from the area.
"The theft is believed to have taken place around 3am on the 24th August 2020 and police are keen for any information if anyone noticed a caravan being towed in the early hours towards the direction of Leek and then onto Ashbourne.
"If anyone has dash camera footage they are asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 171 of 24th August."
PCSO Johnson originally said on Monday: "Police are appealing for information after a report of suspicious activity on Overton Road, Biddulph.
"Sometime between 8pm and 5am a vehicle has parked up by gates to a farmer field and removed the hinges to a gain entry to the field.
"The offending vehicle has then driven through the fields towards some farm outbuildings.
"Police are keen to know if anyone noticed any suspicious activity between 8pm on 23rd August and 5am on 24th August on Overton Road, Biddulph."
