A Biddulph town centre pub that has been out of use for several months could reopen in the future as a restaurant and takeaway if new plans are approved.

A planning application was this week submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council regarding The Swan Inn on Biddulph High Street.

The plans, which were submitted by a Mr Mommed Ahmed, seek permission for: "Change of use from existing public house to proposed restaurant / takeaway".

The plans state that the town centre pub has been vacant since March this year.

Permission is also being sought for a change to the shopfront, meaning the exterior of the building could also be given a new look if the council gives the green light.

As the plans were only submitted very recently, details on what sort of restaurant or takeaway is being proposed are currently scarce.

However we will be sure to update you once more information becomes available!

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will have the final say on the plans at a later date.
