Local police have asked people not to swim in Knypersley Reservoir when they are enjoying the recent hot weather.
With temperatures heating up and swimming pools still closed, many people are looking for ways to take advantage of the sunshine.
However, visitors to Knypersley Reservoir, one of the local area's most popular attractions, have been urged to resist the temptation to take a dip in the water for their own safety.
The warning comes after police said they have recently needed to ask several people to stop swimming in the reservoir.
In a post to the Moorlands Police social media accounts, a police spokesperson said: "Please keep safe when visiting Knypersley Reservoir, we have had to deal with young people swimming in the water, it's not safe and it's not sensible!"
The reservoir is around 630 metres long, and in parts can be over 12 metres deep.
It is also one of the area's most gorgeous beauty spots and is regularly praised on TripAdvisor, where it has a rating of 4.5 out of 5.
