Police warning over suspicious door-to-door salesman in Brown Edge

Police have asked residents in the Brown Edge area to be vigilant following a report of a suspicious door to door salesman.

Officers say that they have received a report of a man going door to door and trying to sell people household items, which has been unnerving residents.

People in the area have now been asked to ensure that valuables kept within their homes cannot be easily spotted.

PCSO Sara Staples, of Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team said: "Staffordshire Police have received a report of a gentleman in the Brown Edge area going door to door selling household items which he found unnerving.

"Can we please ask that when dealing with such individuals that you are aware of your surroundings and do not have items such as purses or keys within eye sight or easy reach."
