A message of thanks has been sent to a "very kind lady" who helped to pay for an 11-year-old girl's shopping in Biddulph's Sainsbury's supermarket - the latest in a string of amazing acts of kindness in the town.
A local resident explained how her daughter went to Sainsbury's to spend some of her birthday money after turning 11, with the trip to the supermarket being only her second time out on her own.
Unfortunately she overspent by £2.60 and would have had to put some of her shopping back, until a helpful woman kindly offered to make up the difference herself.
Now the resident has taken to social media to thank the woman who helped her daughter, and offer to give her money back.
She said: "My daughter has just been to Sainsbury's with some of her birthday money, she turns 11 tomorrow so only her second time out alone.
"Anyway she went over by £2.60 and was going to put some things back until a very kind lady gave her the money.
"I hope you are reading this whoever you are. Thank you so much and we would like to give you the money back."
The post has since seen an overwhelmingly positive response on social media, attracting over 360 'likes' and many comments praising the act of kindness.
One local resident commented: "This just restores your faith back into humanity. So lovely to hear something positive for a change instead of the negative things. I hope you manage to find this lady so she's recognised for her kindness."
Another added: "It's so lovely to see people being kind to our younger ones, youth and children do get the blame for a lot of things lately and to see this kindness is so nice."
While a third said: "Lovely, wouldn't want to be anywhere else but Biddulph."
It is the latest in a series of heart-warming acts of kindness that have taken place in Biddulph.
