Staffordshire County Council has responded to Biddulph residents concerns over areas of "dangerous" compacted ice around the town's roads and pavements.
Biddulph Nub News reported previously how residents had called for the council to take action after areas of ice on various streets were causing problems for pedestrians and motorists.
Lynmouth Close was pointed out as a particularly treacherous area of ice, with residents also reporting ice issues on Lyneside Road, Lotus Avenue, Lyndhurst Drive and a range of other roads in the town.
Residents were urged to report their streets to Staffordshire County Council to try and get the authority to take action, and Biddulph town and district councillor Jill Salt has also been asking the county council for support.
Biddulph Nub News contacted Staffordshire County Council for comment, and the authority has since responded, saying gritting crews are "incredibly busy" but are now "aware of the issues" in the town.
David Williams, Cabinet Member for highways and transport at Staffordshire County Council said: "Our gritting crews have had an incredibly busy few weeks and always do a fantastic job, often working in very difficult conditions to help people who do need to drive to where they need to go safely.
"Our crew's main focus during the cold weather is to keep the main roads clear and the county moving, however, they will also grit smaller roads and some estate roads when resources are available.
"Crews are aware of the issues at Lynmouth Close and will visit the area when they can. In the meantime, drivers should take extra care if on the roads."
David added: "We have grit bins at various locations across the county for communities to treat locations where skidding vehicles could create a safety risk during times of severe weather.
"A small amount of grit goes a long way but it's worth remembering that grit needs traffic to travel over it to work effectively, which means when roads are quieter, snow and ice can be lying for some time.
"Grit bins are always filled at the start of the winter season with priority bins refilled as necessary when resources are available.
"But It's also important to note that grit bins are for highways, not for people's driveways - and this should help to keep stocks going for longer.
"People can find out more about gritting routes and locations of grit bins at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/winter."
