Staffordshire Police and Crime Commissioner elections: The results are in!

As voters went to the polls yesterday and the count got underway today, Staffordshire has just found out who its next Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is going to be.
And that person will be Conservative candidate Ben Adams, who has secured the role in a clear win, meaning a Conservative will now be Staffordshire's commissioner for a third term, following an election that was delayed by a year due to Coronavirus restrictions.
Ben secured a share of over 55% of the vote, with Labour's Tony Kearon finishing in second place with over 27% of the vote.
He will take over from fellow Conservative Matthew Ellis, who stood down from the role after holding it since it was created in 2012.
The results in full are below:
- Winner: Ben Adams (Conservative): 136,024 votes (55.71% share)
- Tony Kearon (Labour): 67,050 (27.46% share)
- Deneice Florence-Jukes (Independent): 19,102 votes (7.82% share),
- Richard Whelan (Liberal Democrats): 10,690 votes (4.38% share)
- Michael Riley (Reform UK): 5,504 votes (2.25% share),
- Number of spoilt ballot papers: 5,784
Here is the voting turnout for each district in the county: - Cannock Chase: 29.64% - East Staffs: 31.01% - Lichfield: 33.13% - Newcastle: 30.48% - South Staffs: 31.61% - Stafford: 34.12% - Staffs Moorlands: 31.02% - Tamworth: 30.91% - Stoke on Trent: 18.7% The total electorate for Staffordshire is 844,839.
