Biddulph commemorated Armistice Day today (Friday, 11th November) with a service and period of reflection at the cenotaph.

A proclamation was read out by town crier, John Robinson, and The Last Post was played as people gathered to remember and honour those who lost their lives serving in the armed forces.

A video of the service has been uploaded to Biddulph Town Council's Facebook page, and you can watch it by clicking here.

Remembrance Sunday falls on 13th November this year, and a further schedule of Remembrance services have been organised throughout the day.

The Sunday morning will see residents meet outside the town hall for a parade to the cenotaph and a period of reflection including the laying of wreaths.

There will then be a Remembrance service at Biddulph Methodist Church.

A spokesperson for Biddulph Town Council said: "On Remembrance Sunday (13 November) we are meeting outside the Town Hall at around 10.20am.

"The parade will leave the Town Hall at 10.30am, arriving at the cenotaph at 10.50am.

"There will be a period of reflection before the Town Council and Royal British Legion lay wreaths, followed by a two-minute silence. Other wreaths will then be laid.

"All are welcome to a Service of Remembrance at the Biddulph Methodist Church (parade expected to arrive at 11.25am).

"If you need further information, please contact the Town Council on 01782 498480 or [email protected]"
