How many Coronavirus cases are there in each area of Biddulph and how is the town comparing to the average for England?

An interactive map on the Government's website breaks down case numbers locally, allowing us to see how each area of the town is being affected by the virus.

The map displays the case numbers for each week, and is updated daily.

It breaks the country down into many small areas, each with an average population of around 8,000, known as "Middle Layer Super Output Areas".

Here are the number of cases in each area of Biddulph, for the seven days ending Saturday, 21st November.

  • Biddulph North and Brown Lees - 22 cases, down by 4 from the previous week. This equates to a rate of around 352 cases per 100,000 population.
  • Biddulph Central - 15 cases, down by 21 from the previous week. This equates to a rate of around 177 cases per 100,000 population.
  • Biddulph Moor and Rudyard - 21 cases, down by 4 from the previous week. This equates to a rate of around 280 cases per 100,000 population.
  • Brown Edge and Endon - 17 cases, down by 27 from the previous week. This equates to a rate of around 262 cases per 100,000 population.

Each area of the town is above the average infection rates for England, with the exception of Biddulph Central, which is just below average.

However, all areas except Biddulph North and Brown Lees are currently below the average infection rate for Staffordshire, which is around 300 cases per 100,000 population.
