Updated data released earlier today (Friday), which localises how many people have died from Coronavirus in each area of the Moorlands, has recorded only one Biddulph death in a month.

In the Moorlands as a whole, only four deaths have been recorded in the same time.

The figures, released by the Office for National Statistics, break the Moorlands down into different areas, each with a population of between 5,000 and 7,200.

This means that following each update we are able to see how many people have died from Covid-19 in each local area of the Moorlands, rather than just the total figures for the district as a whole.

Biddulph Nub News reported last month on the last dataset, which covered deaths that occurred until June 30th.

The updated data now covers deaths that occurred until July 31st.

Several areas of Biddulph are included in the figures, but only one area of the town saw an increase in deaths for the month.

Biddulph Moor and Rudyard has now seen four Coronavirus deaths, an increase of one from the three deaths recorded last month.

Biddulph North and Brown Lees remains the area of the town with the most deaths, with nine.

Biddulph Central remains at four deaths, while Endon and Brown Edge remains at two.

Below is the full list of Moorlands areas and their recorded deaths, with the increase compared to last month's figures, if any:

  • Leek South and Cheddleton - 14 - no increase
  • Werrington and Wetley Rocks - 12 - increase of 2
