Tunstall Road in Biddulph is due to close starting tonight (Monday 8th November), with work continuing to create access to Biddulph's upcoming Aldi supermarket.

Biddulph Nub News reported previously how how nine weeks of roadworks were scheduled for Tunstall Road as part of the preparations for the supermarket.

Nub News was the first to report last week that the opening date of Biddulph's Aldi has been confirmed as Thursday 25th November.

The roadworks began on 20th September and involve the construction of a new fourth exit for the roundabout which also connects to St John's Road. The new exit will provide access onto the Aldi supermarket site.

The road is now expected to be closed overnight for several nights starting tonight.

The section of Tunstall Road from the junction with Newpool Road to the Meadows Way roundabout will be closed from 8:30pm - 5:30am, starting tonight (8th November).

It is anticipated that the works will be finished and road reopened on 12th November.
