Biddulph's Wharf Road Bus Hub plans: The results are in!

By Jack Lenton 29th Apr 2021

The people of Biddulph have had their say on what they would like to see done with the Wharf Road bus hub near Sainsbury's.

Biddulph Town Council is currently considering plans to bring the bus hub back to life, with a range of potential uses for the building being discussed at recent meetings.

The council also asked members of the public to fill out a survey asking for their ideas on the future of the bus hub, and the results of that survey have now been published, meaning we can see the suggestions that you thought would best suit the building.

If you would like to see the full results of the survey, flick through the images above to see how each question was answered.

The question asking which suggestion people liked best for the future of the bus hub received a range of answers.

The most popular suggestion, selected by around 47% of respondents, was a bus hub with a coffee bar.

The second most popular suggested, chosen by around 45% of respondents, was an occasional space and pop up shop for trial businesses.

Other fairly popular answers included a museum and tourism space and a drop in space for young people.

Less popular answers included an art gallery and hire shop.

The results of the survey were discussed by town councillors at a meeting this evening (Tuesday).

Cllr John Jones commented: "The most popular answers included a café and a pop up space, and that pretty much falls in line with what we were thinking, so that's encouraging."

Councillors agreed to accept the results of the survey and take it into their considerations going forward.
