63-year-old Biddulph man arrested on suspicion of assault as two taken to hospital

A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident on Church Road in Biddulph last week.

Police were called to the incident just before 6pm on Thursday, 17th June, as two were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

In an update police have now said that the man, who is from Biddulph, has been released on conditional bail while police make further enquiries.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said last week: "A 63-year-old man, from Biddulph, was arrested. He remains in custody.

"A man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s were taken to hospital with minor injuries."

Two ambulances attended the scene and confirmed that their injuries were not believed to be serious, but took them to hospital for further assessment.

In an update today (Monday), a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told Nub News: "The 63-year-old man was released on conditional bail pending further enquiries."
